Tabla Rasa

On any job, I’ve learned that the first stage and the last stage are the most difficult.  The in-between is almost easy – get rolling on a little momentum and the rest almost seems  to take care of itself.

Ah, but it’s that blank slate, that point in the project where the concept is hardly a twinkle that can sometimes be so daunting.  What if you step out into nothingness, like the fabled Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom, and that next step doesn’t appear out of nothingness?  Here’s the dilemma and the paradox: it never will unless you take that step into the unknown and then somehow, something materializes and it’s just about never what, where or how you might have expected.

Likewise starting a new blog in a new ‘home’.  I let this medium go fallow for 7 months which I can hardly believe.  Now it’s time to get back to ascending that magical staircase, one invisible step at a time.  To borrow from Yogi Berra, it’s tabla rasa all over again.
