the story:

this design started out as a doodle in my sketchbook; just the result of playing with a couple of ideas, like graduating drawers to go with a taper in height as well as in depth; and a bow front just to make it even more interesting. Built on spec, or rather, in school at RISD, this exercise turned out to be one of my successful designs as it created an innovative look while drawing upon familiar proportions, uses and styles.
