this chair was designed using a Boston rocker, a familiar design from the late 19th century, as its starting template. Once the proportions were set and the seat sized in relation to the back and arms, I went about adding some details and styling. The result is decidedly different from the starting point, much simpler than its antecedent. It's named for the city in which it was designed some 37 years ago.
