my sister asked me to make her a cabinet that would fit along a certain wall. It would be for plates and serving platters - a sideboard; but it would also house their electronic equipment so I had to pay attention to cable access as well. I made sliding doors in the back, which aren't visible but allow for easy passage of any and all cables into and out of the cabinet. They also afford a good amount of ventilation which is pretty vital for electronic equipment. They liked arts and crafts style furniture so that's how I designed this and was lucky enough to find some figured cherry when it came time to build it.
