a stool for changing positions
when I was starting out, in graduate school, I designed saddle 1 and called it ‘the riding stool’ because I imagined the seat of a stool to be like a saddle; that is, it could be as comfortable to sit on crosswise as the more conventional way. then, in subsequent iterations, I realized that when sitting on a stool or on anything, really, changing positions often is the norm. I designed this stool to accommodate or even encourage sitting crossways or anyways. this is probably my oldest design that I’d still produce.
